THX 1138

THX 1138
We take a look back at George Lucas' first film, THX 1138.

Welcome to another episode of Cinedicate! This episode I am joined by Anthony to talk about this hidden gem from 1971, THX 1138.

From director George Lucas, known for the Star Wars Saga and his creative involvement in Indiana Jones, has an arthouse debut in his film career with a science fiction dystopian tale.

In the distant future and in a different world, humanity lives in a megastructure far below the surface of the planet. Freedom is restricted by means of mandatory medication that control emotions. But when THX 1138 (Robert Duvall) and LUH 3417 (Maggie McOmie) stop taking their state-sponsored medication, they wake up to the horror of their existence and also fall in love with each other. With love being outlawed, THX and LUH begin their escape from their world into the unknown.

Whether you are a George Lucas fan from his Star Wars movies or a follower of Robert Duvall's career, this movie is a must watch for anyone who loves sci-fi. Join us as we recommend and discuss this forgotten dystopia!
